Proactive SMS Notification

The new way to manage the delivery of your shipment.

PROACTIVE SMS NOTIFICATION

The PROACTIVE SMS NOTIFICATION (Preavviso di Consegna via SMS) allows the consignee of a shipment to manage the delivery using the text message feature of a mobile phone.
How it works:
  • DHL send a first SMS to the consignee (if the number is present on the airway bill) when the shipment leave the country of origin;
  • DHL send a second SMS when the shipment is with the courier, ready for delivery;
When this second SMS arrives, the consignee can:
  • Ignore the notification. In this case the shipment will be delivered the same day;
  • Answer “1”. In this case the shipment will be delivered the next day;
  • Answer “2”. In this case the shipment will be available for collection, from the next day, at the indicated DHL office;
  • Call the Customer Service (calling 199 309 345*) to arrange a new date for the delivery
The Proactive SMS Notification works only with a valid mobile number written on the airway bill.

The notification is free of charge and available for customers with a DHL account.

*For calls coming from fixed operator, the maximum cost is €14,49 cent/min. For call coming from mobile operator, the maximum cost is € 48,8 cent/min, with a connection fee of € 15,75 cent.
